Welcome to the Hurricanes Academy!

Our Junior Hurricanes for girls in Grade 4/5 and boys in Grade 5/6 focus on building a strong technical foundation in athletes. We will cover all the key skills of the game, including passing, setting, serving and court positioning. The emphasis will be on proper form, movement and communication. Having lots of coaches in the gym helps ensure each athlete learns quickly. Any level of skill is welcome! This program develops their athleticism and prepares our Junior athletes for future competitive play and possible Rep teams.

Our Hurricanes Development League for Grade 6-8 girls, run 2 sessions per week.  This program is designed for motivated athletes who are looking to develop strong technical skills in a structured training environment. Girls in Grade 6, 7, 8 will participate in 1 weekly practice, focused on skill development and 1 weekly game session, that emphasizes court awareness & real-game application. We scrimmage our own inter-squad teams. Any level of skill is welcome!

Our Hurricanes Development League for girls in Grade 9/10 and boys in Grade 7/8/9 will participate in one evening that will combine 1 hour of focused technical training with 1 hour of structured gameplay. These older athletes will work on advanced fundamentals such as serve receive, attacking mechanics and in-game strategy, all in a competitive and supportive environment. Ideal for athletes preparing for school and non-rep volleyball teams.

Throughout the year, Hurricanes runs a variety of training camps for beginner to advanced athletes. There are opportunities for boys, girls and co-ed sessions. Some are positional, some are advanced skills and some are specific training.

Open Gym sessions are opportunities for athletes to meet and train with Hurricanes coaches. Open to all athletes, these one-off sessions are a great way to learn and train with some top-level coaches in a fun and competitive atmosphere. 

**New** Starting February 10, 2026. The Hurricanes private and semi-private lessons will be booked per session and not by individual. Pick the skill you want to work on and the athletes you want work on them with. Bookings will be for a 75min session and be available for 1-4 athletes providing an opportunity to train one-on-one or in a small group setting working on a specific skill to supplement your development as an athlete. You can sign up for these lessons through the booking link and pick the date that works best for you. Lessons are available to all 11U-18U athletes.
